Jakarta, June 10, 2024 - Indonesia’s digital economy is on a trajectory of rapid growth, particularly in the post-Covid-19 era. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, has projected that Indonesia’s digital economy transactions will reach US$124 billion, or approximately Rp1.775 trillion, by 2025.

With this projection, Indonesia is set to rank first in ASEAN for digital economy transactions, contributing 40.1% of the region's total. The current number of digital transactions has already surged to around 65 million. Consequently, MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) are pivotal to this growth and warrant focused support to bolster Indonesia’s economy.

Recognizing the vast potential of the digital economy, transcosmos Indonesia (TCID) is proactively aiding MSME entrepreneurs in adopting digital marketing strategies through a collaboration with the Revolusi Lokal community and the all-in-one online store management platform, Plugo Indonesia.

“MSMEs were the backbone of Indonesia’s economy during the pandemic. We believe this potential can be further harnessed. Hence, we are committed to equipping MSMEs with effective digital marketing strategies to enhance their contribution to the national economy. As MSMEs thrive, so will Indonesia’s economy,” stated Raymond Chin, Content Creator and Founder of Revolusi Lokal.

The 1-on-1 speed mentorship sessions featured digital marketing professionals from transcosmos Indonesia (TCID) and Plugo Indonesia’s director, Izki Aldrin Iswarna. They provided tailored guidance to MSME entrepreneurs in the fashion and beauty industries on digital marketing.

The MSMEs selected for this mentorship were meticulously chosen by the Revolusi Lokal team based on several criteria, including having been in business for at least a year, generating a stable monthly income of at least Rp30 million per month, and maintaining an active online store for the past six months. Out of 140 applicants, 20 MSMEs were selected for participation.

“We are proud to partner with Revolusi Lokal and Plugo in empowering MSME entrepreneurs. In this digital age, digital marketing is essential for business growth, especially for MSMEs across various sectors. Seeing the enthusiasm of the participants, we are confident that MSMEs can continue to boost their revenues and scale their businesses,” said Ardi Sudarto, Vice President Director of transcosmos Indonesia.

During the 1-on-1 speed mentorship session, TCID brought in three expert mentors in digital marketing: Hamdoni, CX Operation Manager; Insan Kurnia, Digital Ads Supervisor; and Ekke Wulan, Digital Ads Team Leader.

Izki Aldrin Iswarna, Director of Plugo Indonesia and one of the mentors, said, “This event is incredibly engaging. As a mentor, I am pleased to share insights with the participating brand owners. This event aligns perfectly with Plugo’s commitment to helping Indonesian MSMEs enhance their businesses through the Seller Juara community program.”

The selected MSMEs were given approximately 5 minutes each to discuss digital marketing strategies and implementations with each mentor.

“May this program inspire further collaborations to collectively advance Indonesian MSMEs. The potential of MSMEs is immense, but it must be coupled with collaboration. This collaboration will guide them toward realizing their maximum potential,” said Raymond Chin.
